Stadiums Sunshine Coast – USC Indoor Stadium
The Sippy Downs Campus at the University of the Sunshine Coast is the location of the USC Indoor Stadium. The world-class indoor facility is part of a sporting complex at the University. It has a range of other indoor sporting facilities including a gym as well as basketball, volleyball, badminton, futsal and hockey fields.
The Stadium is the home base for the Sunshine Coast Lightning, a team that plays in the Suncorp Super Netball national competition. This is one of only 2 national level elite teams based on the Sunshine Coast.
Upgrades to the venue have increased the seating to 2,200 by way of retractable seating panels at the northern and southern ends of the court.
Stadiums Sunshine Coast - Sunshine Coast Stadium
Beautiful Kawana Waters is home to one of the largest stadiums on the Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast Stadium is owned by the state government and is the current home ground for the Sunshine Coast Falcons, Sunshine Coast FC Fire and Sunshine Coast Rugby Union. The Sunshine Coast Spartans, a gridiron team, also use the venue to train and host their at-home games.
The stadium is part of the Kawana Waters sporting precinct. It has been expanded several times within the past decade to upgrade facilities and add more seating. The newly expanded stadium can now seat 12,000 for rectangular field sports whilst entertainment events can hold up to 15,000.
Other facilities within the precinct include seven playing fields that are suitable for a range of sports.
Stadiums Sunshine Coast – Caloundra Indoor Stadium
The Caloundra Indoor Stadium at Golden Beach is a multi-purpose 4-court indoor stadium with international standard playing courts for netball, basketball, volleyball, badminton and indoor soccer. There are also 4 fully lit outdoor netball courts. It can seat 1,700 people.
The venue is the current home of the Sunshine Coast Phoenix basketball team that plays in the premier Queensland state competition.
